About Me

IMG_0747

Hello!

I’m a 24 year old Iowan who loves yummy snacks, pajamas, snuggles, seasonal beverages, Despicable Me, and Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus by Mo Willems. If not already obvious, I’m a kindergarten teacher (currently in my first year of teaching).

This blog came about as a result of months and months of baking my little heart out in my tiny apartment kitchen. After each new recipe, I would post dozens of pictures to Instagram (yes, I am that girl). “You should start a blog!” my friends urged. “How narcissistic!” I thought. “I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!” Well, here we are. I knew that one of the most important aspects of what I envisioned for my blog (apart from yummy foods and beautiful pictures, of course) was a name. Luckily, I’m surrounded by extremely creative people who have a lot of free time on their hands. Within two seconds of asking (erm BEGGING) for help on Facebook, my friend Lizzy had texted me an absurd amount of ideas. One of these ideas was sprinkledwithliv. Bless her soul. The blog was soon a reality!

I think honesty is important, so I think I should confess that I’ve never taken a cooking class, and sometimes I just make things up as I go. The idea of baking with yeast absolutely terrifies me. I don’t do recipes with weird amounts of ingredients. All that I know has come from lots of blog reading or watching my mom and grandma cook. Those two amazing women are my biggest kitchen inspirations (along with Ree Drummond – I LOVE YOU, PIONEER WOMAN). When I’m not baking, you can find me reading, stalking Taylor Swift, working out, watching movies, or on a quest for donuts.

Your feedback is so very important to me! If there is ever something that you want me to make, please let me know! Also, I look forward to hearing how these recipes turn out for you. I would love to hear from you with ideas, comments, questions, or recommendations. Feel free to email me at: oliviajohnson1uiowa@gmail.com – Let’s be friends.

xx
